Inlays and onlays are tailored to fit using accurate 3D scans, that we take of your tooth in our practice.
Inlays and onlays (also known as indirect fillings) can be used to restore areas of decay or damage that are too extensive to be treated with a normal filling and can provide a less invasive, more affordable alternative to a crown. They’re a long-lasting restorative solution, that are usually placed in teeth at the back of the mouth or they can be used to repair large areas on the front teeth.
If you have a tooth with a cavity or damage, inlays and onlays can help to restore your tooth’s functionality and appearance, while preserving as much of your natural tooth as possible.
At Broadway Dental Boutique, our investment in cutting-edge technology ensures precision and efficiency in every procedure, guaranteeing you the best results. We prioritise preventative care, taking measures to improve your oral health and prevent future issues.
We are dedicated to each and every one of our patients’ well-being and we go the extra mile to make sure you feel comfortable and informed throughout your treatment journey. Not only do we restore your smile but also, provide care that leaves you with lasting confidence in your oral health.
The first step is booking an exam. This will involve a thorough examination of your teeth and oral health. Your dentist will then assess the extent of the decay and based on the diagnosis, will determine whether an inlay or onlay is the appropriate treatment option.
Before placing an inlay or onlay, the damaged or decayed portion of the tooth needs to be removed, the tooth is reshaped to create a stable and clean surface for the restoration.
After the tooth preparation, an impression of the tooth is taken using our 3D digital scanner. The impression is used to create the inlay or onlay, using our in house CEREC machine.
Once the inlay or onlay is ready, you'll return to us for the final placement. Your dentist will ensure that the restoration fits properly and matches your natural tooth colour.
